Join ceramic artist and educator Jennifer Mecca for a hands-on, three-day workshop exploring the relationship between form and surface in functional pottery. Jennifer will share her techniques for throwing and altering a variety of forms, along with her distinctive approaches to sprigging and Mishima decoration.
Participants will learn Jennifer’s inlay process for creating layered, dimensional surfaces and experiment with combining techniques to develop their own visual vocabulary. Designed for intermediate potters, this workshop is an opportunity to push beyond traditional ideas of what functional pottery can look like and discover ways to bring bold, expressive surfaces to everyday forms.
